Free sewing tutorial and pattern easy to sew long sleeve T-shirt

















Materials:
* Knit fabric Znok Design - Kurbits Purple (long sleeve)

When working with knits, it is important not to stretch or pull the fabric while sewing. Also use a stretch needle and a stretch stitch. In this pattern all seams are sewed with a twin needle.

Step 1: Draw the pattern.












Draw the pattern with an aqua trickmarker on the back of the fabric.

The pattern is without seam allowance. Ad 0,5 cm (0,2 in) seam allowance. Ad 2 cm (0,4 in) seam allowance at the neckline, the bottom of the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt. Draw with the aqua trickmarker a second line 1 cm (0,4 in) above the neckline.

Step 2: Cut the fabric.











Cut a front piece, a back piece and and two sleeves out of the fabric.

Step 3: Fold seam allowance neckline to the inside.


















Fold seam allowance of the neckline to the inside on the first line (about 1 cm - 0,2 in from the cut edge) and pin down.

Stap 4: Fold seam allowance neckline to the inside.
















Fold seam allowance of the neckline to the inside on the second line (about 2 cm - 0,4 in) from the cut edge) and pin down.

Step 5: Sew.
















Sew.

Step 6: Sew the sides of the shirt and the shoulder seams.




















With right sides facing pin down the back and front piece. Sew the sides of the shirt and the shoulder seams.


Step 7: Fold the seam allowance to the inside.




















Fold the seam allowance of the bottom of the shirt to the inside and pin down.

Step 8: Sew the hem in place.




















Turn right-side out. Sew the hem in place.

Step 9: Sew the sleeves.













Fold the seam allowance of the bottom of the sleeves to the inside and pin down. Sew the hems in place.

Step 10: Sew the sleeve into the armhole.
























Pin the left sleeve right sides together, into the armhole. Sew.

Step 11: Turn sleeve right side out.


















Turn sleeve right side out.

Step 12: Pin sleeve down.


















Turn shirt wrong-side out. With right sides facing, fold the sleeve in half. Pin down.

St3p 13: Sew.


















Sew down the entire side.

Step 14: Topstitch.















Turn right-side out. Topstitch. Repeat step 10 until 14 for the right sleeve.
