Instructions:
Download the free sewing pattern size 24 months /2T or size 2T /3T.  The pattern is without seam allowance.  Set your printer settings to A4 paper.

Additional dimensions for skirt size 24 months / 2T:
The front is sized 39,5 cm x 18 cm (15.6 in x 7.1 in). The back is sized 42,5 cm x 18 cm (16.7 in x 7.1 in).

Additional dimensions for skirt size 2T / 3T:
The front is sized 40 cm x 18,5 cm (15,7 in x 7,2 in). The back is sized 43 cm x 18,5 cm (16,9 in x 7,2).

Cut a front and a back from the main fabric.  Cut the bottom of the skirt without seam allowance. Sew the zipper in place. Sew the sides of the skirt. Serge the seams.

Cut the waistband pattern twice from the fabric (outside and inside). Cut a piece of interfacing in the same size as the waistband fabrics. Put the fabric piece for the inside waistband on the ironing board with the wrong side up and center the interfacing on top of it with the adhesive side down. Iron the fusible interfacing firmly, so it will stick to the fabric.

Stitch the buttonholes for the adjustable waistband onto the inside waistband. Put the two fabrics for the waistband together, wrong sides facing and pin down. Sew the upper edge and the sides of the waistband. Turn right-side out. Topstitch.

Now use gathering stitches to create ruffles in the top of the skirt; Set your sewing machine to a wide stitch and sew two lines of stitches around the top of the skirt with 0,5 cm (0.2 in) distance. Make sure to leave a 8 cm (3 in) length of thread at the end and at the beginning. Ruffle the skirt until the size of the skirt matches the size of the waistband.

Put the waistband with right side facing onto the inside of the skirt and pin down. Sew. Insert elastic and sew the ends of the elastic to the waistband. Pin the waistband to the outside of the skirt. Sew. (Note: to prevent the elastic to be sewn also, you can pin it down before sewing and remove the pins afterwards.)

Sew the buttonhole for closing the skirt. Sew the button for closing the skirt and for the adjustable elastic waistband on properly to make certain that they function well and last for years.

Finish the bottom of the skirt. Pin the strip of fabric with the right side of the fabric 50 cm x 4 cm (20 in x 1.6 in) to the bottom of the skirt on the inside. Sew together, 0.7 cm (0.3 in) away from the fabric's edge. Trim, re-fold, and then pin once again to the outside of the shirt. Sew together.
